Christmas and New
Year

Christmas and New Year were very strange, our niece was born
on 22^nd December, so we had a new little addition to the family to
fuss about and have lots of cuddles with!!! Yes you guessed it…. A beautiful
little girl, who I did buy a dress for to wear ar the wedding, whilst she was
only 1 week old!!

All anybody seemed to say on New Year’s Eve was well its
nearly your wedding Year!! And what an amazing feeling at the strike of
midnight when I could officially say ‘I’m getting married this year’

January

January was a very slow, month on the wedding front, as I
started a new job, so a lot of my effort went in to that, but I did spend some
time designing my invites…. It took hours, but Dave and I are finally happy
with the. As they are being made by my bridesmaid, who is a perfectionist, they
simply had to be perfect. Now it’s just to make the full 200 invites. I’m not
looking forward to that one bit!!!

We’ve also got an extra bridesmaid now, my friend Katie, who
refused at first due to not doing dresses has finally given in, and agreed to
be part of our special day!!

I had an amazing phone call today….. My dress has been
delivered to the Bridal shop, so here comes a road trip to Bournemouth!

My bridesmaid Jo and I went to Bournemouth today to try my
dress on. W eventually got to the shop…. I told Jo the complete wrong directions,
and it took us 2 hours for a 45 minute journey!!! When we arrived at the shop,
we had to wait about 10 minutes; it really did feel like a lifetime though,
watching all the other brides to be trying dresses on…. I just wanted to get
mine on!

We went in to the fitting rooms, and my dress was hanging
up, I kept looking at it in the bag, and sheer horror and shock came over me,
it was the wrong dress. They have ordered the wrong dress….. I started to
panic, shake, and sweat and generally feel awful, the manager unzipped the bag,
and I realised it was inside out….. OK a huge sigh of relief, and a few
giggles, as I felt really rather stupid. Funnily enough my bridesmaid Jo had
been stood thinking the very same thing!! Apparently she thought ‘How the hell
am I going to tell her that the dress is awful’ luckily the day was saved!!

When I put my dress on, I felt amazing, but also very scary
and finally it felt very real. I am getting married!! Its officially sunk in
now! I am a proud owner of a beautiful wedding dress!

It was a shame that my mum couldn’t be there, but she has
the seen the dress before, and it just means I can go back to the shop again
once she is home!!! I cannot wait for the fittings now…… I am so excited!!

February

We have started looking more closely at cakes now…. We are
so undecided as to have a traditional wedding cake, 2, 3 or4 tiers or to have
cupcakes. I keep changing my mind on a daily basis…. Ok maybe evenly hourly””
Every cake we see, I fall in love with; Dave isn’t too bothered what we have,
as long as I am happy with it! We have arranged a cake consultation at the end
of the month, so will be visiting a ladies house to discuss and hopefully
decide on a cake! Then once I have tried the cake, operation wedding diet really
must commence!!

We went to see the cake lady today, and we have chosen a
traditional wedding cake, we feel in love with it as soon as we saw it. Yumm!!
My friend at work has set up her on business making cupcakes too, so we are
also having a few cupcakes for all the children at the wedding!!

WOW…what an exciting day I have had, we booked our
honeymoon!!!! We were only supposed to be browsing the internet at places and
prices, and ended up in the travel agents and booking it….. We are off to
MEXICO!!!! 1 week all inclusive in a luxury 5* Complex!!! I cannot wait!! The
hotel looks truly amazing, I was a bit reluctant when booking it, (I think the
travel agent was glad to see the back of me) It has to be perfect, so I asked
every question possible I think,  but we
left the travel agents very happy!!

NOW TO GET SKINNY FOR OUR WEDDING AND MY HONEYMOON
